I did the same thing recently.
I did it like this: Under the Library Tab I went to User Collections, and there I created a new Smart Album (you can also make a normal album but I wanted to automatically add all my Leica files).

When the new album is done, you can rightclick on it an from the menu you can choose Export As Catalog.

After the new catalog is done you can choose to delete the references from the original catalog.

This will not solve my problem. I am creating a file of photographs, for example Black and White pictures. I am creating Black and White images from photos in two or three different catalogs. I know I can export the images and then import them into a file in any catalog I want. I would like to find a method from within Capture One that will allow me to simple move the images in the same manner that I can move them between folders or projects with a single Catalog.
