    (1) There was a use of the Alt key to toggle between brush and erase, but that was changed several versions ago because the use of the Alt ket was being repurposed for something else (I can't remember what). So as far as I know, B and E t is.

    (2) If you immediately change your mind, then Undo (Ctrl+Z) should do it. But otherwise there is no shortcut to send an image back where it came from? (But where would you send it? If it came from the Capture folder you could image a shortcut to move images to the Capture folder. But the Move to Selects button (or the shortcut Ctrl+J) will move images from anywhere to Selects. To be able to send them back where they came from would require Capture One to remember for every file in Selects where it was before it moved there. So drag and drop seems to be the best way.

i know i can use B and E...but is there a way to toggle this with a modifier (like shift), like in Lightroom?

    2) i know there's a button to place pictures in the 'selected' folder. If you change your mind about an image that you put there..is there a button/shortcut to place it back in the capture folder? Or do I have to drag it back?

Keyboard shortcuts are user definable so you can set up a brush and erase brush to be defined as a key and Alt or Ctrl+key (shift is reserved) but personally I find it easier to simply tap another key rather than have to use two fingers.
