Unable to Export Certain Variants
I got the CO 20 to stop crashing constantly. It has worked as advertised for a few days and now won't export certain variant images. It will do some and not others. On the ones I am unsuccessful I get an Event drop down that says either "Export Error" or "Could Not Process File."
Can I get some help with this latest bug?
Thanks.

I've had variations of the "can not export" problem. So far I've managed to export by changing my selection to select more or fewer images. I've not been able to narrow down how to reliably reproduce the problem. -1 -
The images that fail to export, are similar regarding the type, size, etc. as other images that do export? Are they in the same folders with other images that do export?
Have you tried to change export parameters, like output folder, profile, format (jpeg, tiff)?
Are you unable to export those images constantly, and selected individually, not in a group of images?0 -
The images failing to export are larger files that are being exported individually. The ones that are exporting successfully are smaller files, in different folders. This issue started in the middle of a work session with previous large file images being able to export successfully.
I have not changed any of the parameters.
I have deleted CO 20. Reinstalled and no change, but I am using the same catalogue.0 -
This problem behaves like a permsissions issue or a dsik space issue.
Check the space available on disk you are exporting the large files too, is there enough space for the exported files.
Empty the trash, the trash file can take up quite a lot of space. Sometimes applications are still tracking folders and files in the trash, and this can cause a lot issues, it's possible you might be trying to export the large images to a folder in OSX trash; this would cause the kind of error messages your are seeing.
Are you trying to export the large files to the same location as the small files? If not, try changing the folder you are trying to export the large images to, or the drive.
What kind of files will the exported images be, what kind is the source, and how big are the source image files?
If none of the above gives any obvious clues, try doing a safe boot - booting OSX with the shift key held down; you can stop holding the Shift key when you see an Apple logo and progress bar.

A safe boot takes longer than normal, at the end the words Safe Mode in red are shown at the upper right. Sign into your account, open a couple of finder windows or do some other trivial operations, then do a normal boot.
This resets OSXs accumulated caches and states: font caches, kernel cache, other system cache files and application cache files.0 -
Thanks for response.
Large and small files going to same location.
Will try changing the location for export.
Disk storage left = 850 GB
Exported images are jpg, source is Sony RAW (ARW), source size = 50MB.
Will check out the trash issue.
Went back to running CO 12 and so far it is working fine.0 -

I don’t see any obvious suspects. If you are exporting some files to this folder, then they should all work, and then the folder is not in the trash. 850GB is lots of room.
Source size of 50MB is a pretty big file, but I suspect PhaseOne files are bigger.
Have you tried reducing the quality of the output JPEG, I realize you would not want lower quality, but if that makes it work you have a “smoking gunâ€
I’m still on CO12 myself, CO20installed, on OSX 10.14.60
