That is strange and yet I had exactly the same problem yesterday - about 350 pix that were shot upside down that needed rotating. Selected all the variants and images and ensured the "Edit Selected" was turned on and it wouldn't do it.
Have successfully done a mass rotation before, I think, but this time it only wanted to do one at a time.
    Will investigate further.

    Mac or Windows?

(I think this sort of subject might be better listed under the appropriate operating system grouping where there is likely to be greater "traffic" form people with useful experience.)

Using a Session and Windows I have no problem using the 90 degree (etc.) rotation functionality with this working with V11.2.

I can't comment on previous versions - I rarely (probably never) rotate images that way.

I'm not sure whether the original question related to that functionality or mass edit of a number of images using the Rotation tool.

If you are talking about the rotation tool then you need to process one of the images as you wish it to be (rather than try to work with the processing overhead of potentially hundreds of files every time you change anything at all) and then, when happy, use the Rotation Tool to copy and apply the settings to all of the selected images.

    HTH.

If you're looking to rotate a batch of images, the standard Copy Adjustments, Apply Adjustments command won't work as the Autoselect Adjustments function of the Adjustment Clipboard doesn't automatically "grab" that value.

In a less verbose way: Capture One wants to prevent you from doing this as it's easy to accidentally perform a batch rotate.

To batch apply a rotation, I have two ways off the top of my head. Both require Edit All Selected Variants to be enabled:

Select all the images you'd like to rotate
Use the Rotation & Flip tool to rotate
Adjustments > Copy Adjustments menu item
In the Adjustments Clipboard tool, check "Orientation" under the Crop item
      Click apply

This manually adds the rotation value to the clipboard.

Or, use the Rotate arrows at the top right of the workspace. This function will apply the rotation to all selected variants.
