Layers Keyboard shortcut proposal

Here’s what I frequently do: I make a new empty layer, then B + M to draw a mask around the subject, then I use custom keyboard shortcuts to fill the mask and then to refine that mask. After that’s done I create another layer, copy the mask from the layer below, and then I invert the mask.  Now I have independent control over both the subject and background. But I have to do that repetitive and mindless third layer work by hand over and over again as I work through my images

What I’d like to have is a keyboard shortcut that would create a new layer, copy the layer just below it, and then invert that new layer, all with a single keystroke.
