move images between folders - strange effect

I do not think that you are doing something wrong.

Did you test with one variant only? What happens with the variant you want to move, is it still in the source folder but deselected?

I am using 13.0.2 and it works.

In the preferences, tab Warnings, do you have all warnings checked? When you drop, do you see a warning dialog " are you sure you want to move" or similar, or not even this?

    regards

    hi,

thanks for your reply. I do have all warnings ticked. The same happens with one image only. E.g. I usually have JPG AND RAW. I select the JPG, drag it to the other folder, drop it there. Now the warning that you mentioned appears, but the raw is marked instead of the jpg that I selected and is also shown in the viewer.

The workaround is to tag the images that I want to move (colour or whatever). After tagging I set a filter. Now I select ALL images filtered and this works fine.

Strange thing. Maybe it's worth to try the update.

    Thanks nevertheless!

I think I understand what happens. What's confusing is that BEFORE I finally drop the images the presentation in the viewer and the browser changes. So the selection itself did not change, I just have to believe this, I don't see it. CP1 already selects the next image in the old folder, that's what happens. So again:

    • I select one ore multiple images in folder A, e.g. I try with the latest 2 of them
    • I drag them and want to drop in folder B
    • when I do a warning message appears, the images that are marked in the browser change (one of mine plus another one near to the other 2, but one that wasn't selected) and also the images in the viewer
    • The images selected internally are still the ones I selected. When I ignore what I see everything goes well.

I think what is shown is exactly the next step that should happen AFTER having dropped the images. Images are moved one after the other and AFTER this the next image in the old folder should be selected. What's confusing is that this happens already BEFORE they are moved, this seems to be the only issue.

I updated to 13.0.2 - the behaviour is the same.

    Yes Heinz,

Indeed I have the same behavior. The selection changes directly after dropping the selected images. And if you interrupt the move by pressing NO in the warning dialog, then the selection in the source folder keeps the changed selection. This obviously not as it should be, in other words a bug.

Now that I understood what happens it's ok for me - I know I can confirm and move works.

But you're right, bugs should be reported. I'm not sure how this works here, I'll check.

regards & thanks for your confirmation
