Folders in Catalog-Changed location?

Hello. I just noticed today that the organized folders in my catalog-Done by year and subdirectories- Have moved all over the place?!  The original photos are intact on the HD and are still organized.

I tried syncing the folder and catalog but this is not working. I tried restore from a backup a month ago and this is not working.  I am a terrified as I have lost photos in other software when I have inadvertently done something.

I am currently creating a new catalog and importing all my photos again.

Can someone let me know what may have happened and how to avoid this?

  Did you make adjustments already? Importing new in new catalog will not have theses adjustments of course.

  organized and moved folders, to quote you, is not precise enough to give me an idea what your situation is, maybe screenshots with more detailed explanation would be good.

  Thanks for the quick reply BeO.

  I cancelled the 10hour import of my photos into a new catalog. I tried going further back into my backups and have successfully restored the directory structure under Folders-in Catalog.

  The only thing I have done recently was purchase the upgrade from Capture One Pro Fuji (20) to Capture One Pro 20.

  I'm wondering if that messed up the catalog organization?

  I'm afraid I cannot answer this question.

  I assume you know that you should not change the folder structure with the Finder, only within the library tool in C1, but it does not sound you have done so.
