    As LR export (which internet searches seems well documented using {...}

    e.g.

    Common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus)
        {45 kHz pipistrelle}
        {Bandit pipistrelle}

    The Functionality is quite important to me (not just synonyms but multiple synonyms) so if you/anybody has ideas about alternative ways to achieve the same (or similar) I'd appreciate it. I accept that different packages don't always offer identical functionality so am happy to achieve the same through different ways (and open to suggestions).

    Many thanks

    To clarify why I use synonyms a fair bit (beyond the above text file example; my main two photographic subjects are travel photography and natural history

    For travel, a lot of places have Western names and local names and the local names often have several variants in e.g. languages where space character is not used (or variably). So I'll often use the "western" name as my main keyword and then add the local proper names as synonyms (very biased to my own use as local names are the proper names but that's another non-photographic topic).

    For natural history my key-wording is a bit inconsistent depending on the availability of common names. My keyword hierarchy tends to reflect the species classification and I'll often use "common name (latin species name)" and add alternative common names as synonyms (and some species have quite a few common names).

    I appreciate this is very DAM use oriented but I have the impression that C1 is moving towards DAM functionality.

    Hi Psamathe,

    Just a side information : I imported all my LR keywords when I moved from LR to Capture One, but it is now impossible for me to erase in Capture One those former LR keywords, if I need it. They remain somewhere, but I don't know where. In such a way that I had to put aside and, to some extent, completely forget, the "catalog keywords", and created a new keywords list in Capture One.

    I am not the only one to have observed that.

    I have observed after my imports from Aperture, that if a keyword is present in the EXIF or that XMP that is in an image file, that Capture One never forgets that keyword unless it is removed from the image file. But this cannpt be removed by Capture One because it never will edit an image file, only the XMP sidecar files.

    Once I had used another SW tool (in my case only a few images with this problem, so i used Preview) then I could successfully remove the keyword in Capture One.

    It was some time ago, but if my memory is good, you can use a Finder serach to find image files with a given keyword.
