More like lightroom in the import is it possible?
Hi,
Background:
for the moment I'm running a trail version of Capture One. One of the key things that acculy holding med back from buying this tools is the import of pictures.
Problem:
In my case
1. I click on import and all the pictures will be marked if they not already exist
2. When I click the import button the pictures will get in a subfolder of the default location yyyy-MM-dd without I need to fillout anything else.
Is there any chance that I can make the import procedure with these default settings when I'm importing new pictures from my camera?

Hi Karl,
you can set your import folder before you are importing in the import images window.
If you want to import your images with a token like definition where your import folder would follow the naming convention of yyyy-MM-dd, that is not possible.
Usually I start with a session that is in a folder structure like this
2020\04\
So let's say I was shooting on the 16th of April 2020 in Brussels then I would start a session with the name 2020-04-16_Brussels and save it into the 2020\04\ folder. That way Capture One Pro will generate the Capture, Selects, Output and Trash subfolders automatically, and it will put all the images into the Capture folder after the import as well.
Of course everyone has a different workflow so you have to adapt that accordingly to yours.
I just try to make the best use of the functions in Capture One that are available to save time on things that can be automated.
Kind regards

Karl,
The Import options include a token based method for creating folders based on metadata (and/or manually edited information) and the same thing for file naming on import.
You can try it out with your trial. The trial software, assuming you are not trying one of the "Express" versions, is fully functional.
