New User list of ?s
Doing the trail to see if I want to buy and have been working on this all day today.
I do a lot of photo editing.
Been using an old version of Lightroom for a longtime version 6 turning my raw images from my Z6 into DNG to load them in as that works.
I am looking to upgrade to something new now. I have been testing a few programs.
Exposure X5 the output image quality is very poor.
ACDSee good image quality and features but so slow it is not something we can use unless we are editing just one image in their edit area as a PS replacement. Also, poor noise reduction and it crashes on every long edit I have tried.
Luminar just way to slow and lacks features for everyday editing.
DXO not to bad quite fast output is good I just can not seem to get the same look and brightness I get from my old Lightroom or ACDSee.
Now testing Capture 1. So far speed is great better then I expected. fast image to image loading and very fast click to zoom in. love that I can make up my own controls layout and have a window open that shows a 100% zoom into a face.
Like the rollover image preview of presets, Reading about the custom setting for your camera that will auto load and apply to all images from that camera I can see using that all the time as I use a load in preset in lightroom all the time to get me started.
Also love the feature I found to select an image to apply a setting to at the top right corner and it shows all selected images and applies to all our just one at a time.
So a few ?s
- Can I use LUTs I do not see a way to load in and use any?
- How do I set up different photo exports some with my logo on them,? We export three sizes one set as a full image, then a FB posting size of 2024 pix wide with logo, and then a website size at 1200 with logo for our website blog posts. I tag all full size at 5 stars and the ones I want to save for the web as Red tagged. ?
- Is there something that works like vibrance i am used to?
- Will need help info on using the Color Balance tool and good videos on that?
- Dose it autosave sidecar info or do I need to turn that on so it is saved.?
- I used the spot removal tool and it did not work very well to remove a person from the water. Any better way to do this. We shoot on the beach all the time and have people in the water behind our subject a lot I need to remove at times.
- The Morie slider tool can that be used as a brush to just apply on the areas that are needed?. this current wedding I am working on the guy's shirt shows it on around 6 images I need to fix.
Will you have a Mothers day discount code to buy?
I guess that's it for now.
Thanks

Bear in mind that this is primarily a User to User forum and as such question like "Will the be a discount" cannot be answered because the users are unlikely to know. However there was an extended discount offer running until the end of April ...
In any case Capture One almost never pre-announces such offers. Or anything else. Historically.
For different Exports you need to investigate the flexibility in the Process Recipes functionality and that set of tools in general.
I'll leave it to a former or current LR user to advise about "Vibrance". I have not used LR since V1.4
For Colour Balance tool videos have you tried the Community Search? (That said it is a good simple concept and as such is intended to be easy to work out what it does,)
What sort of sidecar info are you thinking of? All editing in C1 is automatically saved. If you are sharing IPTC data between applications then check out the Preference > Image tab and the Metadata settings options.
The Spot tool has two specialised forms - One to remove Dust spots (Sensor dust for example) and one for Spots (from faces for example.) To remove objects you need a Layer and the Clone brush tool or the Heal brush tool. Whichever works best for the problem area to make a mask and match the unwanted image content to something else.
The Moiré tool, to be used selectively, can also be used on a masked layer.
