I have the problem.  Please raise a Support Case as they dont seem to follow the forums!

I have an open thread here in the forum as well.

Fabio, Please make sure that you raise a Support Case.

Now there are four of us...  I can only assume that they have not taken any notice of all the test reports that I sent in during beta testing that it did not work under High Sierra.

See here for my report.  Another user David Poulton on my original thread from yesterday.  https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360011294558-Reported-in-Beta-but-it-is-still-present-in-Final-release-of-COP-v20-1-Crashes-instantly?page=1

This new software works fine on Mojave but it seems that they have seriously dropped the ball wrt High Sierra.

Sigh... I hope they can give us a fix soon.

Hi Guys, Im getting the same issue...The link Im being taken to downloads a 696.9MB file CaptureOne20.Mac.13.1.0dmg. When mounted this asks me to drag the new icon into applications. When started and after being "verified I get exactly the same problem..this time is crashed but enabled me to get through the T&Cs and to get through the "splash" screens but then each time I try to start it I get Capture One 20 quit unexpectedly.

Im using a Mac OS High Sierra Version10.13.6 running from a SSD 12gb ram and plenty of space (although the 696.9MB expands to 913MB!!!!!!!)

I have shared this thread on the Facebook page...in the hope that if we throw enough muck some will stick!

I have also raised a support case

Oh dear.  We seem to have a big problem here.

Adriano, I have not seen any problems in my Mojave installation.  The betas worked for me and so does the final release code.

Please make sure that you raise a Support Case.

I resolved the problem! When i open the .dmg and move the Capture one to Applications and run, this crash everytime! So i started the app on the .dmg and a screen open for me to insert the key. After that, the app not open alone, so i tryed to open again via .dmg, and ask me again the key, i close, and move the app to the Applications folder, and now run the Capture one and now is working :)

Adriano ... I'm glad to hear you got the software running. I tried the same thing... open from .dmg and entering the key ... however, mine still crashes immediately when I try to open it.

I got an email from Tech Support this morning that said that my MacPro 8 core 3GHz 38GB RAM multiprocessor machine is incompatible and I need to have SSE4.2 capability.  My CPUs support SSE v4.1.  I also upgraded my video card to a Metal compliant card but still no joy.

The email contained a link to this article.

    https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008879897

I have done a tech specs search and basically your machine needs to have a Nehalem family processor. or later, in it to work.  So you need an i3/i5/i7/i9 machine with Metal support from video GPU.  Any machine made post 2012 should work but some from 2010 will also work.

    https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/using-cpuid-to-detect-the-presence-of-sse-41-and-sse-42-instruction-sets.html

This means that it is new machine time, or stick with 12.0.4!

Time to look at a black dustbin or the new silver beast that costs an arm and a leg!!

Actually bought myself a 2014 Mac Mini i5 2.6GHz with 16GB RAM so when that comes I will have a working desktop.

Seems like a very expensive upgrade from v20.0.4 to v20.1.0  8-)

I'd be surprised if Phase One did not keep an eye on this forum..
And the obvious 'message' they'd be getting is there are a number of issues in the new releaes that need resolving ASAP. Their default 'position' seems to be all the customers with problems have incompatible hardware... Not a confidence-building start to the new release! The support 'pointers' to lack of SSE4.2 support (in processors) may be a red herring as most chips from 2010 (maybe earlier) do support this.

It's hard to be sure, but trying to 'analyse' common factors, is the main one here MacOS High Sierra?

I'm in the lucky position of also having LR: if these issues are not resolved soon, I'll dump C1 and revert back to (the very stable) LightRoom.

    Cheers all

    Les

I find it very surprising that there is no phone line for Tech Support.

    My machine supports SSE4.1.

I have updated the video card but unfortunately the RX580 I got only has 2GB VRAM rather than 8GB.  The 8GB version is definitely Metal compliant but this version doesnt seem to be!

I await the arrival of my Mac Mini i5 2.6GHz (2014) with 16GB RAM.
