What do you mean they won't open? Do you mean that clicking on the little triangle by the tool name does nothing?

Correct. They will only open if dragged out of the side panel. The panel is a customised one. I’ll try tomorrow and see if they work ok in standard view.

What is the vertical resolution of your screen?

Do you mean you are using a customised Workspace?

Is the customisation based on (or adapted to) a V20 workspace a scrolling area for tools or an earlier version's workspace with only fixed areas?

Solved. Deleted that Workspace (Old version 12). Created a new Workspace and all works fine.

    thanks for your help.

    Hi David,

glad that your issue is resolved and I tried the same on my machine. I still have issues with the colour editor tool as long as it is in the pinned area of the tool bar. Clicking on the advanced tab is not working and the tool does not open. It works fine in the scrollable area or outside the tool bar.

    Hi Peter

It’s obviously a bug then. I’ve made my panel scrollable so maybe that’s what fixed it.

It seems that it is in conjunction with certain MacBook Pro models and OSX Catalina. Works fine on my 2010 MacPro with Mojave.
If you move the panel to the pinned area: what is happening?

Aah, I’m running Catalina on an ancient MacBook Pro 2012!
I’ll give that a try when I’m next on the MacBook.

The same issue occurs on my 13" MacBook Pro with OSX Mojave.

And on my 2010 MacPro with Mojave as well.

The colour editor, when open, is a tool with a relatively large vertical dimension.

It needs enough free space, vertically, to open.

One of the reasons the scrolling areas were introduced for tools was to allow "virtual" space for the tools with larger dimensions to open up whilst at the same time not having tools "disappear" from tabs by being pushed past the bottom of the fixed visible area. Once people use to the older versions become familiar with the scrolling concept it starts to become habit to scroll  to find tools instead of just wondering where they might have disappeared to.

Of course you do need to ensure that your screen has at least the minimum vertical pixel count as set out in the requirements section of the release notes.

    Hi SFA,

I am having this issue on any Retina MacBook Pro and on my Mac Pro that is connected to a 24" 4K and a 32" 4K monitor.
The curve tool is fairly large as well and works fine on all my machines.

Are you by ant chance using text scaling?

The Colour editor is a bit different in than it adds additional lines on demand as used  - so not a fixed space. I have no idea whather that makes a difference but it might.

It could simply be that the Workspace definition file is introducing some oddities.

Do you have a personalised Workspace or are you using the most recent default?

Have you tried different Workspace files as an experiment to see if the problem is consistent?

If it is consistent the best option would probably be to create a Support Case using "Submit a request".

    HTH.
