Issues with Catalog in new update
-
I had similar problems when I upgraded from 13.0.4 to 13.1. I tried repairing the catalog but that failed to complete after more than 16 hours, so I quit, deleted 13.1, reinstalled 13.0.4 and replaced my catalog from a 13.0.4 TimeMachine backup. That catalog failed to open with an error message to the effect database can't be found. I then tried replacing the catalog with a backup from SuperDuper. That catalog opened but, as I suspected, the catalog failed verification. I chose to repair it and this time the repair completed successfully after about an hour. I then updated to 13.1 and things have been OK for about a day or two. I suspect converting a catalog with errors is going to cause problems during the conversion process to 13.1. I recommend verifying and repairing the catalog before updating. Make sure you have multiple backups. I have no idea why the catalog restored from TimeMachine would not open.

Fred, thanks for that. Yes, based on your comments, I just restored an old version of the catalog. Not that bad from a data loss perspective, I'm fairly diligent with my backups. I then did the backup and verify integrity on the catalog that restored (and updated to the newest version of CO). All is fine so far.

I'm having a similar issue with mine. My Sessions and Catalogues however are just not rendering the images. I tried opening a session shot yesterday (before updating) and the images remained pixelated after 25 minutes of being open. So it can see the images, I can edit things like exposure (shows up on the thumbnail not preview) but the photo never renders. I also tried clicking the "Regenerate Previews" option and nothing happened. I've had to restore my TimeMachine backup from earlier today, not exactly interested in restarting my catalogues and sessions folders again.

From a shoot from yesterday with 286 images:
MAC went to sleep. After wake:
/Volumes/Media Working Drive/Photography/Session Inbox/Carothers Family Photos May2020/Carothers Family Photos May2020.cosessiondb
The session was saved with Capture One 13.1.0.172 and cannot be read by this version.
Went to Verification and Repair:
Verifying database…
The database version is not supported by this version of DataCore. It should be opened with a newer version.
The database version is not supported by this version of DataCore, It should be opened with a newer version.
Database verification FAILED
Looking at my just updated Capture One 20 I show version 13.0.0.186.
So...I'm stop work before this happens to any more of my Sessions.
