Where does Luminar fit into this activity?

I don’t  understand the connection with Luminar. I just uninstalled Luminar, as it turns out, but how does that relate to the issue at hand? To provide more insight about what happened I exited Capture one. When restarting it  the express version opened. So I downloaded the pro version again. Worried that this may happen again when I close Capture one again. SR

Luminar comes into play only because you mentioned it in the title...

As for the downloadable file: it’s one and the same for all versions. Depending on the license key you enter it activates the correct version, or at least that’s what it is supposed to do. Do you have the Pro version for Nikon?

Sorry about Luminar!! Yes using pro version for Nikon. Just Capture One 20 shut down on its own.  I treied to restart and it wouldn't open. So I restarted the computer and tried again. Same probelm as before--the Capture One Express opened!! What to do? SR

Also discovered that the when I right click on Capture One icon it shows I have the pro version.  However, I no longer have access to the tools afforded by the pro version--only the limited Express tools. SR

What you downloaded is only part of the story.   The license code defines what the downloaded app does.   Depending upon the license code you'll get full pro capabilitites, Nikon only capabilities, etc.  Once you enter a code it is remembered.  Downloading and re-installing another binary doesn't help change codes.

    Start up Capture One

Click on Capture One -> License from the menu.  That will tell you which license you are using.   If it is the wrong license and you have a code for the proper license you can deactivate the license in use.   I believe you will then be able to reactivate using the correct license.

But don't trust me... I'm just another user.   Contact Capture One support.
