Change annual Pro to annual Nikon Licence
Good day,
I have an annual C1 Pro licence butI only use Nikon bodies. I do use Ziess & other brand lenses as well as Nikon lenses.
Can I change my licence to your Nikon release?
Will I still have all of the Pro functions?
Will loose any functions?
Thanks. Cal

You won't lose any Capture One Pro functions, but they will be limited to working with files from supported Nikon cameras. You don't get any extra Nikon features - they are included in Pro too.
I use a perpetual licence, not a subscription, so I don't have first hand experience. But if you are on an annual subscription, presumably you could just wait until it comes up for annual renewal and then go for a subscription for the Nikon version instead. (But bear in mind that if you have existing images from non-Nikon cameras, you would no longer be able to edit them.)

Hi Cal and Ian,
The purchase cost of C1 20 Pro for all cameras is higher than just the Nikon only version and I would assume that major upgrades for the Nikon only version would also cost less than the Pro version major upgrades. So if a user wanted to downgrade to the Nikon only version, is there any consideration to providing a credit of the difference between the Pro and Nikon versions that can be applied to a Nikon only future upgrade? To be fair there should be a time limit or cut off on the first offering of the major upgrade where you have to make a decision on your upgrade path for the future.
The reason I'm asking is because the Nikon version is new and some people (me included) who just purchased the Pro version in April would have purchased the Nikon version if it was available. Going forward, I would pay less for major upgrades and of course would initially have paid less to purchase C1 20 Pro.
This might not be the best place to ask this question so I might just post this elsewhere.
Thank you.
Regards,
G

I'm just one of your fellow users. I have no idea what the answer is to your question, I'm afraid.

Garry,
Use the option that appears i many places - top right of the Forum pages for example - to "Submit a Request" and thus register a "Case", or whatever it is called these days, with Capture One to discover whether they have a strategy that covers the question.
This should give a personal service with a personal, private answer.

Hi all.
Apparently it is possible. When I took SFA's advice and "Submitted a Request" I was directed to a FAQ that outlined the process. Since I only have Nikon bodies ($144 annually) I really don't need the Pro version ($261).
I still need some help with it as I want to ensure that all of the lens correction functions will still work before I switch.
Thanks for the help.

I see no reason why the lens correction functions shouldn't work. The only difference between the Nikon version and the Pro version is the Nikon-only limitation.
