Editing 1940s images scanned as jpgs and tifs
I'm assembling a collection of old B&W photos from the 1940s, scanned as jpgs and tifs with an Epson V600 scanner. They're problematic in various ways and I want to clean them up, straighten bad rotations, heal old folds and wrinkles, etc., as well as re-exposing and sometimes sharpening them. I've imported them into my catalog successfully and they display in both the browser and viewer. However, my editing tools (lens, color, exposure, details) are mostly grayed out. I've checked the Enable JPEG Editing and Enable TIFF Editing boxes in the Image tab of Preferences, but no go. What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks.

I guess you are scanning directly to grey scale?
Pretty sure that all most all C1 adjustments are limited to RGB files.
Even exported B&W tiff images created from RGB raw files by the B&W tool in C1 are still RGB.

This did it. Many thanks to you both for the help.
