Momentary image defocus when I move a slider
I am a relatively new user of COP and I am very pleased with the results that I am achieving since leaving LR. There is one small annoyance that I am encountering with COP, that I did not experience with LR; specifically, when I move a slider, there is a momentary defocus of the image on the screen. I have encountered this using a mouse as well as while using a Wacom pen/tablet. I do not experience the problem using CS6 or Affinity Photo.
BTW, while I am now using OS 10.13.4, the defocus also occurred with previous versions of OS 10.13 as well as with COP 10.

It's most likely recalculating.
Whether you see the effect will depend on many factors - size of files, where they are stored, capability of system and potentially a whole load of other factors including what sort of editing process you have and which adjustments are active.

Thank you.
My files are large and they are on an internal SSD
I did notice that when I used the up/down arrows it did not seem to be as severe. In retrospect, I guess that was because the arrows were making smaller adjustments.0 -

If you use the arrows you are making a specific adjustment step by step and I would guess that it's a little easier to wrk out the timing form when you may have finished adjusting and want to see the effect compared to using a slider where people might well slide it backwards and forwards over large ranges before settling in a point that identifies adjustments. It may be that the process is trying to work out which intermediate points can be binned from the list of instructions the slider and the reaction timing code have forwarded.
The net effect may also depend on the tool and the set of changes that using it will apply.

Since the only time that moving the sliders is annoying is when I am trying to "close-in" on a setting, I guess that I'll use the sliders for coarse adjustments and then switch to the arrows for fine adjustments. If my coarse adjustment is close it shouldn't be too bad. 0 -
Are you seeing this when in Zoom-to-fit or when viewing at 100% ? 0 -
Primarily while viewing at 100% 0 -

If you enable OpenCL for Display, it won't pixelate.0 -

Should have added, the problem still exists. 0 -

Your card is getting a little old 😉
In the prefs, does CO report any problems under HW Accelleration?0 -
Yes,
"Hardware acceleration doesn't work"
Suggestion??0 -

Likely because the card is too slow. I would suggest you write our Support team for clarification.0 -
I had a Radeon HD 5770 in my 2008 Mac Pro and while Capture One would use it if I enabled it, it was slower and more glitchy than leaving it disabled. Cards with less than 2GB of VRAM aren't supported anyway I believe. I replaced it with a Nvidia GTX 680 and that made a huge difference. It cut export times to 1/3 of what they were and made everything a lot more fluid. There's some EVGA branded versions for Mac on Amazon for less than $250. I think they're mostly PC cards with flashed Mac firmware so you get your boot screen. It's not as seamless as a true Mac card though (the boot screen changes resolution a few times and flashes on/off and gets stretched in weird ways, but it's there, and once the desktop appears it's all good). If you have a newer tower Mac Pro like a 2010 or 2012 then you have more options for even better cards. 0 -
I bit the bullet and purchased a Geforce GTX 1050Ti 4 GB card. The improvement in C1 performance is outstanding. Thanks to everybody who offered their advice and assistance. 0
