images sent to trash file disappear - 3.6 XP

When i send images to the trash file during a session i'm unable to access them again once i exit the program - the trash file empties out. Is this just a problem with .6? I've talked with users of previous editions and they can access images sent to the trash after exiting. Their images remain in the trash file until they hit the empty trash icon. I've tried hitting save and save all before exiting, but the trash empties out in any case. Am i doing something wrong?

  You don't say what camera you have but I beleive this is a known bug for .CR2 files.
  Search the forum and you'll find more info aoubt it.

  Thanks! I searched the forum and found a way to retrieve the files by opening the client folder with Window Explorer and changing the trashed extention to original .CR2 extention.
  Will I have to do this all the time? Will I be able to access trashed .CR2 files with C1Pro in version 3.7?
  I'm using the 20D.

  I don't use a camera that produce .CR2 files myself so I'm not sure what the current status is. Hopefully someone that do know will read this thread an give you an answer.

  This was on the 3.6 bug list (it worked properly in 3.5.2 and earlier) ... the 3.7rc has fixed this problem.
  
  So it's a known issue in 3.6 but is fixed in 3.7 ...
