2 issues for new user

I am moving over from LR and I get frustrated at times. This morning I took my MBP to an event and imported images into my catalog and made some basic adjustments. I then wanted to do 2 things which I was able to do last week successfully, but not today. And I don't know why, 'cause as I said, it worked last time.

I copied wb, clarity, and structure from 1 image, then selected 6 other images , and applied these adjustments but they did not show up? What did I do wrong?

When I was set to come home I wanted to export the catalog (with images) to then move to a thumb drive which I planned to import into my main catalog on my desktop Mac Pro. However, the menu item to export as catalog was greyed out. Again, what did I do wrong?

  Of course, it's hard to say. Did you have Edit Selected Variants turned on?

  Did you have a folder selected in the library?

  Never mind I am set for now.
  After selecting the folder where the images reside, I then right click on that folder and an option comes up to export as catalog. Looking for the menu option without selection the folder location makes the option greyed out.
  
  I have to select the images first, then copy from the one showing in the viewer and then paste. I was selecting adjustments and then selecting the images.
