add new key/item/attribute to metadata

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here,
I am into CO 12 + Applescript
I was able to read file name and put it in one of already existed items into metadata, but what I really need is to create a new item and add file name into it,

Any idea/hint/sample code for how I can do so?

  I’m unsure about you want.
  
  Is it that you want to add a file name into a currently empty but existing metadata, or do you want to create some completely new kind of Metadata, and put your meta data into it?
  
  Or something other than the above two interpretations?
  
  If you supply some information about how you shall use this it would be helpful.

  I want to add new item to metadata then add the file name to it,
  I already know how to get and add file name to item in metadata which is already exists but how to create new item in the metadata, this is my questions?

  Capture One variants have many IPTC metadata fields, all are writeable, typically most are empty.
  
  I’m pretty sure that it is not possible to create a new Metadata field e.g. mySpecialSortOrder, or I would have used that already.
  
  Instead I find an empty IPTC field that I will never use, and use that (hijacking). After doing this for some years, I now think that a string In a hijcked IPTC field should perhaps start with a short string that identifies what kind of data it is, e.g. [SSO]. I have not done this yet, but I think it would have prevented some of the confusion I occasionally run into.
