Library tool question
I am trying to get the library tool to display my hard drive and be able to navigate down thru the folder hierarchy to get to the folder I want to see without adding a new session or new catalogue. Is this possible?

Yes - if you scroll down in the library tab, you should see (in a session at least, I don't know about catalogues, which I don't use) from the top Session Folders, Session Albums, Session favourites, and then system folders, which you can navigate through as you please.

Catalogs are different. Sessions allow you to browse the file system. Catalogs only allow you to browse what has been "cataloged" i.e. imported. You can add folders though using the + icon at the top right of the folders section, and then you can sync them, which is basically an import process. 0 -

Exactly this.
I would just add that should you wish to make a connection to a folder at any point so that it is retained as a reference in the session information you could make the folder a "favourite" or, going further, import the chosen content from the folder which allows some default processing as part of the import and will automatically make the folder a favourite.
Both of these actions are (in sessions) entirely optional but may prove to be useful from time to time.
