Capture One 6 Pro & NAS
I created a new sessions in my local hdd however all of my image files are saved in nas, which is configured as iSCSI. Capture one 6 pro very slow to to show the images, compared to lightroom 4.1 which is blazing fast.
is there a solution to this problem?

How is your computer connected to your NAS? Is there any WiFi connection or is all wired Ethernet. If Ethernet, is it all gigabit Ethernet or are any 100 Mbit connections involved? 0 -

How are you working with LightRoom? Original files in the database or external (I don't have LR4 but assume the design concepts have not changed much.)
Is the speed comparison related to displaying the thumbnails or the full image at 100%?
I have observed in the past, comparing older versions of LR to other applications of the time, that LR could appear to be very fast but if one was doing more than just viewing an image an default thumbnail resolution the total elapsed time was often little different between the applications. I'm interested to know if this balance has changed in more recent releases.

The nas is directly connected via gigabit Ethernet. I tested the transfer rate it between 800mbps and 2gb/sec. I'm not sure why capture one 6 pro and media are too slow to read the image files0 -

Lr4.1 is pretty fast to read/view the image files, actually it's faster than local hdd or external USB 3.0. Drives. I'm not sure why can't capture one 6 pro and media pro run faster as well.0 -
CaptureOne initially reads the image file, then builds it's own preview and adjustment file within the image folder. This process is slower across a network than on a local drive, just as Photoshop operations are slower because of read/write speeds. IMHO, as we use two computers to access the files, the slight drop in overall speed is outweighed by the advantage of not moving files and having our NAS set in a redundant mode rather than the fastest RAID 0. It's most operator efficient to allow COne to "develop" the RAW files before beginning edit/adjustments.....once that process has completed, it's fairly zippy even compared to a local drive.
I'm not familiar with current LR...but the earlier version displayed the file's thumbnail, and did not apply a profile in the process. If its faster, I would assume the same, faster but less accurate display. I still believe CaptureOne gives me the fastest overall path to great output, there's always something else I can do rather than watch the develops occur, such as answer email and visit forums...<g>......0 -
I managed to resolve the problem by myself, apparently i have to scan the disk for bad sectors and I fix the problem under disk management. Capture One ^ pro runs smoothly again, except the problematic Media Pro. 0
