Crop tool size box

In my trial version the crop tool behaves strange.
1) When I enter a value in one of the size boxes it will be set to zero again after I tab out of it. Also the units box is greyed out.
2) I can crop from the tool bar, but it will use the ratio last set in the crop tool in the composition tab.

I don't have any recipe active as far as I know, so imo that cannot be the cause. How do I check this, btw?

Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks in advance.

  Hi Martin,
  
  I would suggest right click from the tool bar and set the RATIO you want. Units are not relevant for that. You can add your own Ratios as well as use the standard settings provided.
  
  However if you were using the tool (it sounds like you were) the units will be taken into account (pixels?). What values did you enter?
  
  I doubt that you can avoid an active recipe. To see what is applied go into the Process menu, open the Recipe tool if it is not already open and look for the Recipe with the Orange highlight. That is the one that is active (whether ticked or not make no difference afaik.

  The solution for my issue is embedded in your remark about it not being possible to avoid an active recipe.
  The value of the size boxes as well as the units is defined by the active output recipe. So defining one was the way to go.
  
  Still, I find it strange that in the instructions this is not mentioned 😭

  Yes, there are some "help" documentation bridges as yet unbridged. I would suggest it would be valuable to create a Support Case to briefly outline the problem you experienced due to not entirely complete (or at least not obvious) documentation. I think the Support Team would be pleased to pass the observation to the appropriate people. (It's easy to miss a "connection" opportunity when re-generating interactive on line documentation as products evolve).
