Novice C1 Catalog Mgmt - Metadata Question
So I am an experienced C1 user, but new to the Catalog Management as I have always used Media Pro and Sessions before now. I'm exploring C1 catalogs to see if they will work for me. In doing so, I've run across what is probably a novice mistake but I need help.
I am trying to batch update metadata fields for a number of images at once. For example, I'm just returning from a location shoot that took place across three different physical venues at one destination. In Media Pro, I would import the card, Multi-select the first "set" of images and then update the metadata tags, with those changes propagating to the entire selected set. Then I would progress to the next set of images, and so on.
Even with the multi-image toggle selected, the metadata update appears to only update the first of the selected set, not the entirety. Any assistance as to what I'm doing wrong is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I believe that that is 'by design'. You can use the "double arrow" icon on the metadata-tool to apply the change to all other selected variants. The quickest way is to hold the Shift-key when you click it: this applies all values without asking, but copies ALL values, ratings, description, the lot.
Without the Shift key you can select what to apply, in a very user-unfriendly dialog box. Don't get me started on keywording…
I don't know about Media Pro, but Capture One is not much of a DAM. Luckily, it's much better as image processor…
Cheers,
