Had to go back to Adobe Camera Raw
After installing Capture One 4.1 some time ago, I immediately found that it stopped me stone cold at the very first step in my workflow, namely looking at the images on the memory card and downloading only the keepers to the hard drive. Well, C1 insisted on writing the preview cache to the memory card, but there was no room since the card was already full. Thus, no preview images were available, making the software useless for me. So, it was back to Adobe Camera Raw.
I see others have been complaining about this cache issue and I hoped that it would be addressed by now, but apparently not. It is beyond my understanding why such a simple option of being able to select the cache location is not included in this program. Have I missed something here?

Sadly, no you haven't missed anything.
Phase One have ignored all the cries to 'bring back' control over the cache, the 'develops' folder issue (which is now a Pro feature - was in v3 LE), sticking profiles, etc. etc. The list goes on.
Lost track of time, but it must be a year since the beta trial, and still no-one listens.
I gave up a long time ago and I couldn't be happier using LR2.
i still look here occasionally to see if anything has changed, but no such luck.0 -

Yes, my support cases has been answered fast and in most cases solved the issue.
