Previous adj not showing up in C1

I recently upgraded to C1 8 and decided that this time I wasn't going to get so frustrated in switching from LR to C1. I'm on a Mac using Yosemite, with 16 gig of ram, upgraded graphics card and plenty of room left on the HD. This time I am taking my time in learning C1.

In doing some reading I see where previous adjustments should show up on photos when importing into C1 as long as the box is checked for that upon import.

I did some testing on a couple of DNG's and also NEF's that had RAW adjustments done in ACR. Did not import into LR to do the RAW adjustments. When importing into C1 8 no adjustments show up and neither did the star ratings. And the box was checked to have them show up.

Any suggestions on how to get the previous adjustments to show up?

  Hi Sue,
  
  That checkbox for previous adjustments is for previous Capture One adjustments (going back to Capture One 4). Adjustments of ACR are not imported.
  
  If you have done adjustments in Lr, you can import the Lr catalog into a CO catalog, and major adjustments come along, as an estimation.
  
  Rating stored in XMP side car files can (should) be imported.

  That pretty much sums up my questions. I can import a previous LR catalog and see those adjustments.
