Extremely Unstable Crashing Repeatedly

I am using the latest release of of Capture One Pro 3.7.8 on Mac OS 10.5.2, Mac Book Pro 2.33 Intel 2 core duo. I have been unable to sustain the application long enough to do any work. I am trying to process a recent wedding some 750 images shot using a Nikon D3 .nef files. The application repeatedly crashed when trying to either import images or open a directory where the images were located. The images are stored on 500GB external firewire drive formated Mac OS extended journaled. Currently I can open the folder but Capture crashes if I select all images tagged to do bulk process. Any help greatly appreciated.

  Do you use compressed NEFs from your D3?

  Yeah that is probably it. So Phase One still doesn't support compressed NEF? What do they support might be a better question!?

  Lightroom seems more stable. I have also downloaded a trial of Aperture to see how that works. Seems like I cannot use Capture on any job I have shot compressed NEF.

  I had exactly the same problem initially, but it seems to have settled down. However today I was using ColorEditor and it kept on happening. The problem seems to be compatibility with Leopard.
