I would suggest asking Phase about this concern using a Support Case.

But this will mean that I have to go into the thousands of previous M10 shots and change their ICC profile.

It is not so painful : you can filter your pictures with camera "M10", select them all, clicking on "edit all variants", and copy the adjustment "Base Characteristics/Camera profile and film curve" in the adjustment clipboard. I have done it several times when I had to change my camera ICC profile.

We are aware of the issues, hence the camera have received a preliminary implementation status in the Release Notes.

I'm a big fan of Capture One so please know that my feedback is intended to be constructive. While the notes say it's preliminary, there was no indication that the same exact ICC profile that was used previously would suddenly render the colours differently after the update. There should have been more information in the release notes such as:

    * Please note that the Leica M10 ICC profile is preliminary, and as result of now having a dedicated M10 profile, the previously used DNG Neutral profile will revert back to a true neutral colour profile that is not matched specifically to the M10's colour profile; this will result in images taken with the M10 and using the Neutral DNG profile to appear desaturated as compared to the previous version of Capture One.

The impact of the lack of this type of note was that I spent two hours trying to figure out what I had done wrong given that the colours had become so strange.I thought I changed a global setting and was struggling to find a way to bring back the colours until I tried changing the ICC profile.

Is there any update on this?

What I don't understand is why does a M10 DNG file with the DNG Neutral profile look differently in 10.1 and 10.2? When I apply a camera profile it must look identically on all versions of the software.

I expect that images look differently when I apply a different profile, like the new preliminary M10 profile.
I also expect that the images will look slightly different when the preliminary profile gets updated to final profile.

But I don't expect a change when the profile has not changed!
