Can't delete offline images
Hi, I deleted some of my images from outside Capture One and now they appear offline in C1. And now I can't seem to get rid of them from catalog by any means possible!
- Tried "Synchronize..." on their folder. All 70 images are offered to "remove missing images from catalog". But clicking Sync does nothing and they remain as they were.
- Tried to (successfully) move them to trash. But when I tried to empty the trash, the offline images remained and couldn't be deleted.
- Tried to delete them individually using "Remove from catalog". Doesn't work either - "Failed to delete image" .
Am I stuck with them forever? Will they keep piling up until they take up the entire world?

I ran into the same issue recently and none of those options fixed it. What I ended up doing was to copy another file and rename it to the match the missing ones and then delete those from within Capture One. 0 -
This is a known bug introduced in 10.1. I've had confirmation from tech support quite awhile ago. I wish they fix it soon. I ended up going back to 10.0. 0 -

How did you do this? I can't figure out how to "copy another file" in the menus.
Many thanks.0 -
I sure wish PhaseOne would get this fixed. I don't use CO1 right now because of the steps I have to take to clean up my offline images. 0 -
I just ran into the same issue.
N.B. CaptureOne developers I would like to be able to find all Offline images and delete them.0 -

I copied the file from outside of Capture One. Go to the folder that held the files and just pick any other image then copy it and rename it to match the missing files. Going back into Capture One, it should be able to show them as online again. Delete those images and you should be good. It's an annoying workaround, especially if you have a lot of deleted images you can't get rid of. But it worked for me.0 -

+1
No way to select all offline files :s0 -
It also seems that even when you do delete a file, the previews and mask adjustment (local adjustments) files are not deleted.
I guess you can always delete and regenerate once the preview directory gets too large, but it would be nicer to cull as you go. The local adjustment files can be several MB and I do apply local adjustments to raws, save as jpeg and then delete the raws - for some things like sports events of not my kids, I'm not keeping 1000's or raws.
New user (not previously LR).
I think I am only going to generate the smallest previews, it doesn't seem to make any difference when processing (maybe it would with a 100MP sensor). Then as I archive my raws I will generate larger previews so I have something available with my originals offline.0 -

How are you deleting?
Which revision of C1?
Which release of Windows 10 are you running?
Catalogue or Session?
And I would suggest you create a Support Case to give the Support Team a chance to understand the problem you are seeing. It does not sound like yo are seeing the results you should.
The Preview sizes are best set in accordance with your monitor resolution for performance reasons. However depending on how you work when editing images the preview size may not make much difference to anything.
Previews are also disposable.
