Workfiles and previews like v3?

I've been using C1 for many years. I'm old and don't like to change the way I have been doing things for a long time. I frequently rename files and move files around between drives (outside of C1.) The biggest nag I have about v 5 is that, so far as I know there is no way to have all the work files and previews in one central location. Is there a way to do this? TIA

  Charles,
  Pack your Files as EIP, they will all be wrapped as one unit.

  Thanks for the quick reply! I didn't know about EIP. I will study up on that. As a long time user, I know one of the mantras has been not to do anything that changes the original raw file, and I am assuming that "wrapping" does not change the original file?
  
  The other part of my peeve is the gradual accumulation of preview files taking up disk space. I recall some user had written a script to do this, although I was a bit hesitant to try it. Is there an "official Phase One" way to globally remove all previews a la v 3 and prior?

  EIP wrapping up does indeed not affect the raw file. It puts the raw file plus the adjustments file in one file package, just liking zipping does.
  
  There is currently no kind of preview cleanup management within CO5 as was the CO3/Win and below. The good news is the previews are much smaller than in the CO3 days, but still...

  I'm a bit leery of this as I have seen zip files that somehow get corrupted, and can't be unzipped.
  
  I'm guessing I'm not the first to bring these issues up. Has/have there already been feature request(s) to have an option in preferences to allow the workfiles and previews to reside in one central folder? If not I'll submit a support case.

  There has been feature requests and it always makes sense to add your voice. I would request for 2 distinct features, i.e. the central cache and the preview management in general. Note that I believe Phase One has settled for a non-central cache (it was implemented in CO3/Mac already) but the preview management would be a nice-to-have feature since it served well in CO3/Win.
