How to "lock in" a process recipe?
Forgive my ignorance, but I am having trouble with recipes. It seems to me like there is no way to lock them in. Just as soon as I make one, it somehow gets changed. Why can't I make one and then have it locked in from further changes until I unlock it? All I want are 3. One for a high quality JPEG at 100%. One for a 50% JPEG. And one for a TIFF in 16 bit mode and in a wide color space. But each time I make them, they get all messed up somehow. What am I not understanding?

Some questions for better understanding your post.
- what do you mean by "lock in"?
- do you use the Pro or the regular version (there is a significant difference in relation to process recipes)?
- which version of CO do you use (there was a bug in 5.0, fixed in 5.0.1 and later)0 -
Only the Pro version allows the user to create and save multiple recipes - p. 127 of the user guide explains. 0 -
Sorry.. here is more info. I use the Pro version, 5.01. What specifically I mean is that after the recipes are made, it is too easy to change the parameters without noticing and for some reason, this happens to me. I would think that after you make your selections and change the name there should be a way to prevent you from changing it. Sort of like locking in a layer in photoshop. You have to unlock it first if you locked it before you can do something to it again. 0 -

Explanation clear. Answer; no there is no way to lock/unlock a recipe this way. I am baffled however how you manage to change these settings unintended. I would focus my research to that if I may suggest.
One tip: you can hide not active recipes; what's hidden can't be changed.0 -
As a small suggestion, although possibly more complicated, if you adjust the permissions (read only) of the physical recipe files in your hard drive Capture One cannot save any changes you make to the recipe. So restarting the software will yield the same recipe you had prior to mistakenly changing the formula.
Again, maybe not the straight forward solution but it's the only suggestion I can think of for the moment.0 -

This gave me an idea that would help with an issue I've been having.
It would be nice to have a checkbox somewhere for each image that would lock any further adjustment, until unchecked, perhaps on the Q tab, or even just under the image in the image info area.
That would prevent me from unintentionally adjusting an image I had spent much time getting perfect and make me start a clone first.0 -

Wow Drew.. that is awesome. I'm going to try that right now! Certainly its an extra step but its just once and that should fix my problem!

Yeah, saw that one coming. It is in your user's profile folder structure. You might need to enable 'show hidden files and folders' to see the Local Settings or AppData folder respectively.Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\CaptureOne\RecipesWindows Vista & 7:
C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\CaptureOne\Recipes
Inside the folder you find an XML file for each recipe you created.0 -
