Noise exaggerated on display when using Clarity--bug?

Attn PhaseOne (I am using 4.5.229)

When processing RAW images with noise (football shot at 6400), the moment I move the clarity slider at all I see wildly exaggerated color noise on the image on my display........after a couple of weeks of this, I have learned that:

the final, processed image looks fine
if I make ANY minor adjustment to any of the 4 sliders in the Exposure block, the image on screen regains it's proper appearance (the exaggerated noise goes away).

Any idea what is causing this, is it likely a bug? It's annoying and a time waster to have to touch the exposure or contrast slider to get a proper screen appearance...

  For others who might benefit...I learned from Tech Support that Capture One does not recognize "H" (which is referred to as iso 6400) on the Canon 1D III. They explain that H is not really 6400, but simply a 3200 exposure w/ software applied in the camera to produce a file that is like 6400..........they further recommend that when the light is so low (night football games for me) that 3200 is not adequate, that I shoot at 3200 and underexpose by one full stop, then boost exposure by a full stop in Capture One when processing the raw image. I did a test and confirmed that they are correct....so I will not be dialing to H on the 1DIII any more......
