Separating "Cache" and "Settings" directories? (cloud)
Is there a way to have "Cache" and "Settings" directories easily separated?
"Settings82" (i.e. all the magic sauce) is extremely valuable for me. "Cache" (I hope) can be reconstructed easily (just some compute power).
I would like to keep the settings (Settings82) with my photos - but not Cache. How can this be accomplished?
Reason: Cache consumes storage space; my "valuable data" storage is automatically cloud-backed, so every single cache item "costs" (time and space)
In the end, and at an abstract level, I am trying to find a way to accomplish the following:
- I have and keep *my* on disk raw photo data file structure
- "valuable" data is stored by Capture One relative to that - e.g. in a "CaptureOne" directory
- temporary / temporal data is stored by Capture One somewhere else, on a "lossy" medium not subjected to cloud, backup, or sync
With my current, limited understanding of Capture One, I believe the following is _not_ valuable data:
- Cache
Valuable are only
- Settings (i.e. Settings82) - all the magic sauce settings!
- Capture
- Output
- Selects
- Trash
How can I "loose" the cache? I do not want to back this up, do not want to automatically sync this to the cloud, want to be able to just delete that, preferably globally in case I ever feel like it.

That is one of the main reasons why I'm using Catalog instead of Session. I backup my Catalog to the same location where I keep with my images synced to the cloud, and that only includes the adjustments and none of the large previews. The previews are then only kept in the original "working" location of my Catalog. 0
