MKIII files work fine now on Pro.

Why no update for LE? Is it true that 3.7.8 Pro STILL won't correctly support the MKIII???

I assume that since CO4 is available as upgrade path to 3.x LE users, only the Pro and DB versions are updated until CO4 Pro/DB are available.

That is correct, LE has been officially replaced by CO4. Pro and DB were updated because there were inportant digital back fixes that could not wait for 4.0 Pro.

Well, is there any documentaton on exactly what us 3.77 LE users are missing? Just out of curiosity, since when 3.77 ceases to fulfill my needs, I'll be forced to look elsewhere (v4 isn't a viable option).

    Thanks.

The changes in 3.7.8 included fixes for digital backs and new dslr support. Please refer to 3.7.7 LE release notes for its capabilities.

I think replaced is a bit of a stretch. CO4 is still light years behind 3.7 LE in workflow.

Replaced in our product lineup? Absolutely. Replaced in your heart? That is up to you to decide. 😄

WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO GET IT THOUGH YOU HEADS THAT CO4 IS NOT A VIABLE REPLACEMENT for 3.7.7. CO4 ABSOLUTLY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it evident how upset I am that you folks have left us LE users with useless software? You've made an absolute mess out of this upgrade and you’re too arrogant to admit it. Offer us free upgrades to Pro 3.7.8 or add the camera support to LE but don't leave current LE users without software and don't give us the 40 is the replacement because it simply IS NOT. I will be eventually, but it’s not ready for primetime now. Help us out here until 4.0 is ready; is that so hard to do?

Please Please Please listen to you customer base and make this thing right.

    Very PO'd

I have to agree that 4.0 is not an acceptable replacement for 3.7.7 LE. The interface is confusing and not as friendly as 3.7.7. Work-flow efficiency has changed dramatically by having the previews and settings files in sub-folders of the images (note to PhaseOne: sometimes users move files!). PhaseOne ignored many of the comments made by 4.0 beta users, and just continued with the "improved user interface" that users weren't asking for and many of us would rather do without. The fancy new interface in 4.0 uses non-standard windows controls, that cannot easily be automated.

All I really want is a good user interface (3.7.x), excellent quality (3.7.x), a current camera list (3.7.8 or 4.0) and good performance (promised in 4.0, but TBD).

Now in order to use the new cameras we were promised in 3.7.8, we need to spend $429 to upgrade to 3.7.8 Pro!

Please give us 3.7.8 LE! The camera list supported in 3.7.8 will buy users enough time for either users to get ready for 4.0 or for 4.0 to get ready for users.

    Please!

    Thank you,

Oh and what a great bargain that is!!! An entire $70 off full price!! What a deal… EXCEPT I’ve already paid that and more for my LE version. Jeez thanks PO.

This entire thing stinks from the top down.

All I want is the 2 pixel static line on the long edge of my converted Mark III images fixed and a promise from PO that they will make a concerted effort to quckly bring ALL of the 3.7.7 features into 4.0 along with correcting the things their customer base has complained about since the beta; cache file location for example. I guess what I really want, no, expect is for PO to listen and pay heed to their customer base.

I just don’t think that’s too much to ask.

This is a huge disappointment. To have support for the 40d in the 3.7.8 pro version and NO upgrade for LE. 4.0 is a great product, for working on a single image!!!! 3.7.* has been a brilliant product. But for working on any more than a few files 4.0 is a kludge. I would gladly upgrade to pro if it were not a dead-end product.

4.0 appears to be nothing other than a knee-jerk response to Adobe Lightroom. And the workflow of Light room is better than 4.0! Still, neither product is as slick and polished AND PRODUCTIVE as 3.7.*. It's too bad that Phase one has decided to jump ship on a truly superior product line. I can't believe that the market is clamoring for the likes of 4.0 and Lightroom.

It doesn't much matter what the market wants since PO has defined its path right or wrong. Arrogance in its truest form which is only amplified by their refusal to answer directly any of the complaints. Instead they give you the "this is a support forum" line. Well I want some support in understanding where the heads are at PO and just why they've chosen to thumb their nose at their customers. Bad business IMHO but obviously my opinion doesn’t matter.

We will stick to 3.7.8Pro as long as our cameras are supported. It simply is the best solution to our workflow. If v4Pro isn' t a significant improvement over the already published versions we have to think something else.
