I have the latest LE edition, that came with my Leica M8.

I prefer to use the C1 LE also for my Fuji Raw files. I prefer to have the extrapolated 12 MP version that the Fuji Software or the PS CS2 can manage. However, I couldn't do it with the C1.

Is there this possibility somewhere that I have not been able to discover?

    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks for the link.

Seems that Capture One does not extrapolate to 12 MP as recommended by many others, incl. resolution tests by DPreview.

I don't care that much, since the 6MP files I get from Capture One LE is good enough for my 30X40cm prints. I should have said "perfect" in fact.

I seem to be able to utilize the 400% dynamic range as well, since I have lots of room on the highlight and shadow portions to adjust the photo to my taste. definitely the photos are much better than my D2X photos taken under the same conditions. (pS: I underexpose the photos by about 2/3 stop with S5, especially under noon sunshine, since I dont want any blown out highlights, while the came gives enough shadow detail even under that condition).

What I want to know is: Is C1 LE capable to utilize the DR 400% potential of the camera fully? Or do I have have to go back to the extremely primitive Fuji RAW conversion software that came out of the box?

Seemingly you can get a 12MB file from C1, but only with the Pro version.

Under exposing? I try not to for noise reasons. And w/ the S5, it defeats the purpose.

Utilizing the full extent of the S5 DR seems ~difficult w/ C1 LE due to the options afforded (EC and tone sliders). Lightroom has highlight recovery (I forget their slider for low end), which is awesome, if you can live with it's conversion quality. For C1 LE, seems the tone slider is my best bet (EC is too overall impacting).

I've purchased HU v3, but have yet to figure out how to adjust the raw file before saving it to JPEG. I'm very disappointed thus far.

Underexposing. because the Fuji s5 is about 1/3 stop faster than the indicated ISO value according to measurements made by many test sites. an I agree with that too. Nikon readings are good for a D200, but slightly overexposing for S5 IMO.

Under strong light, I have seen that the chances of overexposing the highlights is much more than losing detail on the shadow site. That's why I set to -2/3. That is in fact probably only -1/3.

Anyway, I hate the Fuji softwares since S2 times. But if you end up liking the paid version, pls let me know too. I may try that as well.

    Thanks.
