C1 V4 wont open now.
i had 15 days left of the trial.
When i launch C1 i get the try or buy screen but when i select trial it goes through the motions of opening. I see the splash screen and the nothing. Its not even running in task manager.
I couldnt uninstall it as the uninstaller came up with an error so i deleted the folder and all references from the reg. Re installed it and it went back to giving me 15 days left but still wont run.
Any ideas? where are the files that didnt get removed found?
Dave.

Glad its not just me.
can you keep me updated as to what they say.
I must admit i want sure if i could raise a SC before it was activated (and i cant activate it on my PC anyway) but if this is a problem that can happen any time then i wont both with it any more, even on my home PC that i still have 13 days left to try.

We were having the same problem - only ours wasn't the trial version. I submitted a ticket and tried all the recommed solutions - they didn't work. I was told by PO that it was a "local" problem.
This is what worked for me...
Check for Windows Updates - install all recommended updates - if you get a repeated unexplained failure to update Windows XP then make sure you have downloaded the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1. Actually, if even if you don't get the error its best to make sure you have the SP 1.
For whatever reason this worked - oh... and the repeated error goes away as well.

Thanks for the tip. ill download that now.
My problem now is that its saying the trial has expired. As im not gonig to take the risk of paying and then not being able to use it im not sure what to do.
It seems you can uninstall it and then re install it to set the trial time back to 30 days.

Thnaks very much for posting that. i can see why i needed to do that as it worked before but all is sorted now.
Ive even managed to reset the 30 day trial back to 30 days.
