6.1.1 constantly crashing
CO 6.1.1 has been very unstable. It crashes routinely (every few mintues / every few dozen files processed). I cannot pinpoint what variable(s) might be causing it to be so bloody frustrating . . . CO just "stops working", and doesn't seem to matter what operation is in process (at least I haven't detected a pattern). It was crashing on startup every time until I deleted old session files in my Library folder. Now, it runs for a little while, then gives up. Occasionally, the focus viewer will hang as well, requiring me to restart the application.
Here's my current setup / workflow:
Excluding the very real possibility that there's nothing wrong with this setup and that it's a CO bug (and I have opened a ticket with Support), what should I try differently? I'm thinking I may move a smaller number of files to a SSD drive attached via SATA and see if that makes a difference. Thoughts on what else to look at (including 6.2.2, which seems to have its own gremlins) would be greatly appreciated.
Here's my current setup / workflow:
- Windows 7 64-bit, two quad-core E5520 processors, ASUS server board, 12 GB DDR3 RAM
- 2790 Canon RAW files in source folder (residing on an external WD 2GB drive connected via a USB3 Dockmaster port)
- I edit, process, then move to the next file. I will occasionally batch-process 10 or more files after applying the same adjustments. Output (full-res JPEGs) is to a subfolder in the same path as the source files

Your own suggestion was my first thought as well. Also, I suggest you do a full reinstall cycle as described in:
http://www.phaseone.com/en/search/artic ... nguageID=1
In particular some cleanup actions like preference file, default session file and batch queue history are relevant. I suggest you end with installing CO 6.2.1, which you can download from Phase One's software archive download pages.0 -

You should also monitor the memory usage of CO via Win Task Manager. I encounter the same hang up when my used memory gets to about 1.3G - 1.4G. The focus often seems to be the issue.
I generally close down at 1.3G used, then restart. A real pain.
I am running v 6.2.1. When it runs, it runs well.
V6.2.2, in addition to a WIC issue also had a couple of memory runaways on me.
I have uninstalled it and will await 6.2.3.

I have the same crashing problem with 6.2.2 64 bit, as I had with 6.2.1. Extremely frustrating. 0
