This has happened to me in sessions, I do not use the catalog. After I delete, I am shoved what up the list and then have to go down and try and find where I left off.

Please open support ticket for that, to confirm with C1 that this is a bug.
On mac it correctly returns to previos image in a list.

If this has been reported before I couldn't find it.

Occurs in 8.x but also used to occur in 7.x. Win 8.0 & 8.1.

Occurs when processing pics within a smart album (eg: Rating >= 1) (in a catalogue).

After delete of a variant, C1 will scroll to an unexpected photo, often far from the photo you're working on. As opposed to selecting a nearby photo (primary variant, previous photo in the list, last photo edited, etc.)

Disruptive, I'm forced to search for the photo I'm working on possibly in a list of 1000 shots.

I believe it also occurs with primary variants (removing a pic entirely from a catalogue), but I didn't want to remove a photo from my current work to test. But I'm pretty sure it's the same behaviour.

Let me know if I can provide more info.

    Thanks

Yes, I can confirm this behavior on windows. What you describe also regularly happens when deleting an image from the catalogue, so it's not limited to deleting variants I believe.

Open support case with Phase One looks like we have a bunch of windows specific bugs related to image browser behaviour

This is indeed a very annoying bug! 🤓

As a temporary workaround, I mark all photo's I want to delete "red" (pressing "-" button) and delete all marked photos at once at the end of my working session. Any news on the Support Case yet?
