Images Selected but Not all Processing

Ok I know this is something kind of moronic on my part, but can't figure out this secret handshake thing that is happening only on my MacBook Pro. If I have multiple images selected and try and either process them out or apply a color correction, etc. to them it only applies it to the one image with the white box around it. What do I have to do to get it to work like it was...and what did I hit to get it to behave this way? Thanks...this is driving me a bit mental so help! 😊

  Check the primary variant toggle icon (top tool bar, looks like 3 rectangles in a stack) is on (orange) - then try.
  
  This changes commands (like process) to work on all selected or just the one with the thick white border.
