Metadata and export questions.
2 things are really beginning to bug me in Capture One. Hopefully it's just me being stupid
1. Is there anyway to automatically reset the output counter so that it resets to 0 with every export?
2. Is there any way to turn of autocomplete when putting in metadata? It is driving me insane!
Cheers in advance

[color=#0000FF:1y57l7bn]Again, not really. The best you can do is to "reset metadata completions" which clears the auto-complete history for the session you're working on but its going to keep trying to autocomplete using any data you've entered since performing the reset.

These are both features that I could see having an option to disable them in the software preferences. My strong recommendation to you is to submit this as a feature request using the support system at phaseone.com. The dev team might come across this post, but it's best to use the official channels in order to get real visibility.
Now. That said.
Capture One does has some inherent scripting capabilities if you're handy with applescripts (or can convince someone else to whip one up) that MIGHT allow you to have that export counter token reset each time. I'm not familiar enough with it to know what the capabilities are here in terms of having a script interact with CaptureOne but if you ask nicely on the forums someone may be able to come up with something for you.
Regarding metadata... I know that in Lightroom you CAN disable the auto-complete suggestion feature when working with metadata. You might also look in to Photo Mechanic. It's a pretty lean app and doesn't require you to import images in to a catalog in order to be able to make metadata edits. But really this all depends on your workflow and whether or not its worth using a different app to handle just metadata side of things. Personally... I'd just learn to live with autocomplete.
I know that's not what you were hoping to hear, but... I hope it's useful info just the same.0 -
Thanks for the response, it wasn't just me then!
I love the processing C1 has, but as I shoot music and need to add different metadata all the time, it gets annoying. I reset autocomplete, but only after swearing at it a time or two first. Will submit report like you suggested.
Not goin to bother with scripts as I am not up on that side of things.
Next question, how do I submit a request like you suggested?0 -
