Duplicates detection and prevention

My impression is that this handy tool still requires Capture one to scan the import source folder each time it is loaded. Has anyone tested the difference in loading thumbnails with and without allowing duplicates? Is there a significant difference. Is it directly proportional to the number of images in the import source?

  To me, duplicate detection is not as fast as expected. It seems it takes about the same time with and without duplicate detection.
  The only improvement is that you don't need to have a look on your import and select manually the new images.
  And sometimes, when for instance you previously moved some pictures to the catalog trash, C1 forgets you did it and you find trashed images in your duplicateless import.
  So, I won't use much longer the duplicate detection....
