Adobe Refugee
I have a few questions that I hope there good answers for:
• Is there any way to make the text in the interface larger? Using a 4k display and it is pretty darn small. Lowering the res doesn't count as a solution.
• Is there a way to view an image in the viewer while editing at a size smaller than fill screen? I find it useful to flip back and forth between smallish (8") and full screen. I see things that way I wouldn't see otherwise.
I use a lot of non system lenses on my Sony FE's. Regarding that:
• In Lr I was able to select batches and key in the lens used, then it would be visible when browsing or editing. Haven't found a way yet in C1.
• Some of my older lenses generate a fair amount of CA and/or purple fringing (I like their other qualities). I am finding that CA must be addressed per image as a custom refinement because applying it if there is none actually creates it! Is my head on straight here?
• Purple fringing correction seems to be pretty feeble too.
Thanks in advance!

"No more refugees!" 😂
For a larger interface, display scaling. Something like 200% might be acceptable depending on the physical size of your monitor. I think OSX's default scailing is acceptable.
Do you mean smaller than "fit" the screen? I think that only if you create an output recipe with a resolution that works out to the dimensions you want on screen and then turn on "Enable Recipe Proofing" in the View menu (make sure the recipe is selected in the list of recipes, and that "Proof Profile" in the view menu is set to the default "selected recipe".
About lens corrections, if you found your lens in the list and apply the corrections you can copy the tool adjustments and paste it to all the selected images. (that principle works for almost all tools in CO. It's the arrow pointing both ways on the tool title bar.)
On Chromatic Aberration, maybe. I can't see any negative impact in having the CA box ticked however.- EDIT: Yes, you're right. I just found a few images that the CA correction does the opposiste.
On Purple Fringing, don't know.0 -
First, thanks for the reply Gusferlizi. [quote="gusferlizi" wrote:

A good problem for C1 to have, no?

No, using OSX's display scaling fuzzes out vector info too much for me. I was hoping there was something built into C1 to allow the text to be larger. I can deal with my other apps.

That is a good practical solution! Thanks!

I rarely use system lenses, so most are not in the list. I am a little surprised Leica R, Zeiss CY, and Zeiss G lenses are not in the list.

The CA correction is a pain because I have to zoom to 1:1 to inspect each image to determine the need, then determine the best correction. Lr does have C1 beat here because there are no negative consequences to simply having CA correction on all the time. And it is quite effective too.
But all in all, I do like C1. I think its color and tonal rendering of Sony files is superior to Lr. And over all it is far more flexible.
Thanks again for your reply.0 -

You're welcome.
On the refugee matter, yes, as long as they are willing to integrate and assimilate the culture. 😄
On the interface matter, I'm currently using a second monitor with lower pixel density for the browser and tools. That seems to make things more 'crunchy' and easier to see with my growing astigmatism.
I can't find the thread now but the preview suggestion is based on what someone suggested recently for more accurate detail and colour rendering on screen (without going 100% zoom).
You can still copy manual lens corrections and apply them to all selected images.
