un-OFFICIAL Features Wish List
I don't know if there is an offical place to have a list of the feature sets that users would like to see in future updates, as i see a few that are really helpful so Media Pro can take place of a Browser and DAM as it should in one application.
Can we compile a features list here so we can have this noticed and perhaps get in action?
Some features may very well be already available and some may not know how to access it.
Raffi's wish list:
1. I would like one of the views, either Media(only if Media can be separated from the interface) or Light table to tap into the original file that's selected to see in detail/full res view (focus check etc). Ideally it would be a separate window we can place on a second screen and size.
2. The Image editor panel to include (or have tabs) in one view the for Format, color quality options as well as where to save the image. I also see a error when making a New Folder. it doesn't get recognized unless i restart Media pro (maybe it was the catalog, either way it has a glitch). It would also be important to name these different profiles/presets to run them again, without the "media versions" which may not apply. This is heavily used when sending proofs and these adjustments would make it much more intuitive and faster to work on making email images that don't need Versions to be tracked. I simply make a Jpeg_Email folder to dump in and thats it.
3. This one I am sure it is there, BUT, I have tried a few times and it changes...
I always 95% of the time want my sort by MOdified date in desending order. Showing me what I made latest as the upper most left item. When i switch around views this somehow gets changed and I have to go to sort and reselect it. maybe there is a way to Apply as default to all catalogs. Of course with the ability to set as need be for the other options available.
That's it for now.
I think making a list would be much better than sending random Support requests that get piled with other support issues...and then maybe we can add votes to them and see which features would make a top pick. I am sure some will be easily done, while others take some effort.

4. Here is a good one. When Image Editor edits a file type(PDF) to a different file type (JPEG), it SHOULDN'T take an Update with extended amounts of time for the file to show up. Otherwise it just shows the JPEG version without the PDF in the folder, making it look as if it overwrote the PDF to a JPEG. this is a flaw. Specially since the JPEG is a blank white page (I'll submit a ticket) 0 -
Maybe it's better to consider this 'Media Pro' entry as the proposed list and add every feature request as a Feature Request (in the title). The respons on every item gives a impression on how populair the request is.

If one thread was a Sticky it would help reduce redundancy and make it productive as opposed to just having people complain "it isn't there". Otherwise...what ever works...Well if it is a popular thread it will be on the top anyway 😊
But I do see individual threads get lost and forgotten even after some time they might have been very much in demand...either way, we certainly need this, and perhaps Ulf or Drew can make something sticky0 -

I suggest one of two forum tools to have a concise feature request area/list:
A) Best is to have a Media Pro Feature Requests section, with a sticky topic at the top describing the submission requirements and details for a feature request (i.e. why it is a good idea, how should it be implemented, how you would use it in a sample workflow, etc.). Then each feature request is its own topic. This is really a no-brainer.
B) Second best is to have a sticky at the top of this forum (with same info as noted above), but with the indication that the topic title start with [Feature Request]. Then on the sticky topic, there could be a static link to a search of all topics with 'feature' in the title, e.g.:

Is there any way that Media Pro could be up-graded to sort by SUB-SECONDS rather than seconds?
There is nothing worse than to have a sequence of 9 pictures taken in one second with them all out of order. My work around is to put the sub-seconds into the transmission field and then sort by that field. However, the field is not fixed and gets altered easily.
There are other programs that successfully use sub-seconds and I don't know why Media Pro cannot do so too.0 -
The (new and old) database limits!
The 4 Gb database limit is new (was 1.8 Gb) and the limit of 128.000 images in one catalog was never resolved.

The problem I have with this statement is that I have never been able to find an official statement on the catalog size of 4Gb. When we upgraded, we were promised "Add more than 128,000 files per catalog, organized just the way you like ". But no statement was made on catalog size in Gb.
My catalog was >57,000 photos, but over 4G in size when it quit working properly.
I have had to split it up to get the full functionality back.0 -

Exactly - it is a problem, imo.
I filed a support case last week, and I have yet to hear from PO, not even an acknowledgement of the problem yet.0 -
Adding further to the un-official wish list.
I'd like to be able to sync also versions between media pro and C1. Not just the appointed version.0
