Any logs or error messages? Particular action precedes quitting? Updated your OS X version? 0 -

My 4.0.1 keeps crashing and quitting as well. I have sent every crash report and just get the same noreply general email but still no results or fixes from the crashing and quitting . CO4 is just very unstable it runs like a alpha or a bad bata it definitely needs some work. I hope this is what is taking pro so long that they will have it right and able to run.0 -

Might be unstable with some users/computers, but you could at least try the newer version (4.1.1. as of today) which has numerous bugs fixed.
And in case you intend to use this user-to-user forum on which you are more than welcome, please be more specific.0 -

I really wish I could be more specific but I have yet to find a rime or reason to why it just quits. some times it will quit as I am organizing folders on the HD or stop to read a email. I really wish I could say that it does this every time I do _______ . However it is just very sporadic. I would have already updated but I thought you only get so many free ones before you have to pay a fee again. I just want to pick wisely as to not be over spending for something that will need updated with camera releases and so on.0 -
updates are free
you can always specify more details about OS X version you use, whether it had worked well in the past, output format, camera type and so on.0 -
After much testing, here's what works for me. If you put the Raw images on a separate drive (not the main drive on your computer), it seems to run just fine. I had it running for 6 hours and only crash once. When the raw images are on the main drive, it crashes more frequently. I sent many crash reports to PhaseOne, I hope they have this issue fix soon.

Running on TIGER Latest Update

sorry for the lake of info, I am running OSX tiger 10.4.11 on a Mac pro dual 2.66 Xeon Intel processors with 5 GB of Ram and a ATI x1900 512 mb graphics card.
As well as a 2.4 GB santa rosa processor Mac Book Pros with 2 GB of ram. It has always been inconsistent and quitting or crashing at random. I use a Olympus E3 and output the files in many different ways depending on the application mostly I output to JPG or 8 bit Tiff but also use 16 Bit tiff from time to time most of the time in srgb color space and 300 dpi.[quote="Paul Steunebrink" wrote:

Thanks for the info. So far nothing unusual re. hardware, software, raw files and settings. Surprising is that according to your report CO4.x is crashing on all your computers. This is highly unusual in my book.
Please try CO4.1.1, remove older version first if you like, before installing the latest. Hope that helps.0
