    kieran reynolds,

This is a function of the Canon software only and cannot be done with Capture One.

I have been using the 1Ds MkII and CP, but have a similar question. The camera writes to the CF Card, but not to the laptop. Using windows version of CP. Safe to assume that this is the same kind of situation?

    fotografer,

With Capture One, it truly is an Either / Or sort of issue... either you want image files to write to hard drive OR to a CF card. Both is not possible.
When trying to tether, remove the CF card.
Make sure you have the most recent Firmware from Canon and the Drivers too.
XP has WIA drivers and 2000 has TWAIN drivers.
Once all are on the same page, tethering is rather straightforward.

    Hi,

Yes interesting scenario this--with the Canon 1Ds MkII into DPP-I could tether AND write to the CF card-nice to have as backup in case HD /Comp failure/etc -we would check the card at the end of the session ---and check out the Folder was indeed full-keep that card marked for Formatting at the end of the day--as insurance and load new card/etc

My P25 like you state will NOT write to the card-even when left in the back-- Hmmm-would be nice to afford the option as security-- or, and I would like the option to shoot to say TWO capture folders at once-one on a B/up HD designated as Secondary Folder like the ingest system in PMechanic.

So Phase -how about this option of a MAIN Capture Folder PLUS a SECONDARY Folder assigned both at time of Tethered Capture in V.4?

    Des W,

I completely agree with you. 💡
Back-up Once is Good...Back-up Twice is Great!
Just be sure it is to another drive eh?!

For now, the old-fashioned-way will have to do. I've seen School Shooters create back-ups during a shooting session by copying image files to Ex HD, 2nd hard disk, burn CD or DVD at breaks throughout the day.

I've seen other software with the Back-up option, so it can be done. I suggest that you use the Help > Technical Feedback... from the software to make a Feature Request for both ideas of 2 Folder locations and to machine and CF card simultaneously.

    Cheers,
    k c
