Does it give you the option to start with a new default session?

I'm getting that error every time I use the Batch Renaming feature. After renaming, which works fine, trying to do something else will just lock up the program. No error messages, it just freezes up. I have to use Task Manager to kill the process. Upon restarting I'm getting the same error as you, but after acknowledging the error I am able to select the original database and continue on as Alex suggests.

    Hi Alex.

No, it just gives a dialog box saying SESSION DATABASE COULD NOT BE READ. The only way to solve this is to uninstall Capture One Pro, delete all its folders and registry entries, delete the folder in APPDATA/LOCAL, then reinstall it.

(PS. All I want to do is to use the Keystone Correction facility then save the corrected image with a different file name but I find the session thing completely baffling. 😭 Most of the time I can't even get it to load even one image - it just sticks on 'LOADING' and stays there. Then the program won't close and I have to use Task Manager to crash out of it.)

    Hi Coach,

I don't understand the session thing (see reply to Alex above). 🤭

Try deleting or renaming the session file. It's usually in your My Documents\My Pictures folder. Look for a file ending in ".col50" perhaps "default.col50" or "untitled.col50" in one of the sub-folders. The next time you start Capture One it should ask you to start a new session file.

Is this to stop the LOADING error (assuming it's an error and not me)?

By the way, I'm on Windows 7 but I just stumbled on this (http://www.captureintegration.com/category/pro-tips/) which reports freezes/crashes with v6.2 on Macs. They recommend going back to v6.1.1 instead.

Session database corruption errors have been around at least since v4. It's been a common practice to delete this file to allow Capture One to start over fresh. If your session file is the problem, this will allow you to start without the the database error. Of course, something else could still be the cause.
