As far as I know there is no indication that the version of OS X, be it either 10.7.5 or 10.8.2 has any effect (positive or negative) on the performance of CO Pro 7. The only fact I can come up with is OpenCL support, which is not there yet for 10.8, but that support is pending.

But in case I missed something, other posters are always welcome to fill in the gaps.

I am on 10.7.5 and have been holding off upgrading to Mountain Lion because Capture One 7.0 has been relatively stable on my machine. I downloaded 7.0.1 this morning and it has crashed twice so far and I'm wondering if I should now go to Mountain Lion to see if there is an improvement.
    Any thoughts?

    Toni,

I had good success using C1Pro 7.0.0 at home on OSX 10.8.2, if you take everything you see on here to heart I must have been the only guy on earth who didn't have massive issues. I haven't upped my machine at home yet to 7.0.1.

At work I have tried running 7.0.0 and 7.0.1 on OSX 10.6.8 and 10.7.4 machines. The Lion machines definitely handled it better than Snow Leopard.

Are you shooting Canon into this machine? If so, that is likely more your issue. The Canon SDK incorporated into 6.4.4 through 7.0.1 is broken. Canon is dragging their heels on giving Phase the code to legally fix the issue.

If you shoot Canon your magic numbers are: OS 10.6.8 or 10.7.4. Anything beyond there doesn't play nice with Canon.

    Hi Toni,

After recently upgraded to 10.8.2 I purchased Capture One Pro 7.0 and had many crashes. I set OpenCL to Never but still many crashes.

I don't know much about C1P - first time user, but at PhaseOne supports suggestion I moved all my catalogues and sessions into my local user account. My files are stored on an external HDD, while the cataloges and sessions are in a Capture One folder in my user folder.

I have had no more crashes since then, nor since upgrading to 7.1.

    Gary.

I also have had a relatively painless time and am actually enjoying CO 7 and now 7.01. An odd minor issue of crashing when creating a clone version of 'one particular' file is fixed in 7.01. Nice.

I'm running the latest Mac OS and have been from the start. 4 year old Mac Pro with only 6gb RAM and it works fine.

I recommend using the latest OS once it has been released for more than 3 months… You can be almost sure that quality assurance and development engineers are spending most of their time using it also.

FYI… In CaptureOne 7.0.1 OpenCL is now supported on 10.8

are you sure about that? when i try to process RAW with variants in folder and OpenCL on C1 will either crash or sometimes it doesn't crash but processes corrupt jpgs. when I turn off Open CL I have no problem processing with or without variants. Im on souped up Retina MBP, 10.8.2, C17.0.1. Thoughts???
