Same here with the following cameras:
    Phase One 645DF+ IQ140,IQ260
    Phase One XF IQ3 80MP
    Mamiya Leaf Credo 50

All cameras get recognized by the computer with no lens information. Could find a camera that works with.

Two different Macbook Pro Retina 2014 with El Capitan (10.11 (15A284)) .

Correction it works with a D800e.

I have no IQ160/5DMKIII, hoping for an immediate workaround.

Hi, from Phase One looks like El Capitan is not offically supported, so downgrading to Maverics should solve problems, or at least waiting for new build that will offically support OS X El Capitan

We are aware is this issue concerning 10.11 and Phase One/Credo backs.
Apple have made some udocumented changes to their USB drivers, and we are in dialog with them regarding the issue.

Meanwhile, we do not recommend anyone to upgrade to 10.11, as we cannot garantee compatibility at this time.

Thank you all for the feedback guys ! At least I know that I didn't do anything wrong.

By the way, CaptureOne and El Capitan are working fine on both USB ports with my Canon 5D Mk3 !

    Cheers

    Question to Christian Gruner,

Are you serious with your vague reply ? I bought and upgraded CaptureOne 9.0.3 and followed the recommendation displayed to upgrade to El Capitan when installation started. My IQ160 back does not work in tethered mode, as you may know on a MacBook Pro the USB ports are USB 3 only. I spent hours and lost money because stuck in trying to understand the issue when I discovered your post in the forum. Note that in your latest release note this unacceptable limitation is not indicated

    Just 2 questions:
    - did you fix this huge bug since Oct 2015 ?
    - if not what OS-X version do I need to re-install to have CaptureOne 9 proprely working in tethered mode with an IQ160 ?

I asked the same questions to my local dealer. Can you honestly believe that it is professionnal to suggest to your professional customers to upgrade when there is major downgrade in capability ? On my side I am very disappointed and will let you know my position soon. Your reply is expected very rapidly.

    Regards

    Dear Anonymous,

Bear in mind that this Forum is provided primarily as a User to User information exchange.

Anyone, Pro or Enthusiast, licenced software user or trialist is encouraged to open a Support Case directly with the Phase and/or Capture One support team when they experience operational problems.

As a serious professional I would have expected that to be your first choice for software matters - your dealer being the first choice for hardware and firmware concerns. Has that been the case? If so I'm not sure that comments here are terribly helpful to you - there would surely be better routes for you to use to communicate with the people you perhaps feel you need to talk to. There is no full time Phase Staff management or presence of this forum so posting here could be a less then optimal way to use your time.

    HTH.

    Same issue with El Capitan & Capture One 8.3.4. Using 645DF+ with IQ140 / IQ260 / IQ280 via USB 3.
Lens not detected and just get STOR DB when I try to fire camera. Though the back is recognized.

Is there a fix? Was told would work better on the current OS. Buying an older OS for the new Mac Pros is not a solution now.

Please update forum if you have a solution.

Capture One is not the problem here. Apple decided to change their implementation of USB3 with 10.11. We issued a firmware update shortly after to address this.
Please update your back to newest firmware, and tethering will work again.

    Reply to Christian Gruner

I am a professional Photographer and do business with your equipment and software for years, I am registered on your web site, why are you using annonymous ? please explain

Beyond that I immediatly alerted my dealer about this unacceptable and would say undocumented potential issue. I also opened a ticket on your web site. Note also that my DF645+ and IQ 160 have been updated to the latest versions

When I read your reply saying "Capture One is not the problem here. Apple decided to change their implementation of USB3 with 10.11. We issued a firmware update shortly after to address this", I would like to explain you something; at minimum this has to be clearly documented and clearly visible, give the explanation you juge appropriate but please inform your customer.

I agree, we need to continue this discussion outside this forum but I believe it is interesting that everyone on this forum know your definition of what is professionnal .. or not !

Hope this clarifies, do not hesitate to contact me if it is not clear enough

Dear Christian and to complement my previous post: what is the latest firmware for an IQ 160 with a 645DF+ ? from what I read in your service Release 3 it is for XF only. I asked the same question to my dealer but other persons in this forum may need to know !

Thanks but it is about the updater itself

I believe that the IQ160 ( IQ140, IQ160, IQ180, IQ260, IQ260 Achromatic, IQ280) firmware has to be updated to version 6 released in february this year. As I said PhaseOne presents this update for the XF and it is no clear for me if it is applicable or recommended for other body like the 645DF+. Reading again the release note it is unclear this is why I asked the question: what firmware is the latest and applicable with other bodies than the XF.

If PhaseOne does not post a reply, I will do it because it put me in serious trouble

If in doubt about using the Firmware updater software, you can always use a CF card for the update.

    https://www.phaseone.com/en/Download/Ca ... mware.aspx

    - Choose the IQ1 140/160/180 (bottom of the page),
    - download the firmware
    - put on it on a CF card (in the root of the folder structure)
    - go to to the update menu on the back
    - follow the steps on back.
    - You're good to go with USB3 again.

If you have any further questions, please create a support-case here: https://www.phaseone.com/en/SupportMain.aspx?

My understanding is that PhaseOne just makes firmware version 6 official for the IQ1

First tests show that it fixes the tethered issue with MAC OS X El Capitan via USB 3 (communication with a 645DF+ body now ok and aperture, speed, .. is ok)

Do you have an other interpretation ? understanding ?

I am not sure I understand your point, can you rephrase?
