CO Pro 6.4.5 was released with the intention to solve the Canon tethering issues (as was 7.1) on OS X 10.7.5 and 10.8. And yes, both the 1D X and the 1Ds mkIII are supported (as on 7.1) as per release notes.

Both CO Pro 6.4.5 and 7.1 use the newest Canon SDK version 2.12.10.4

Regarding the choice between 10.7 or 10.8 for your clients who prefer to upgrade beyond 10.6.8, I do not have a preference in this case (although I tend to favor to 10.8).

    Thanks Paul.

So 6.4.5 will work fine on 10.6.8 especially for Canon tethering too?

For running Capture 6.4.5 and/or 7.1 is there a better Mac OS, the choices being 10.7.4 or 10.7.5? I am reluctant to go to 10.8.2.

I want to use Capture 7.1 on some specific jobs and I have been having problems with Mac OS 10.6.8.

    Dale,

I too would like to know. I am running a couple of RZ's (Pro D II and RZ Pro II) tethered with Leaf Aptus Backs on a Mac Pro running 10.7.5 and Capture 6.4.4 with pretty good stability, but I had lots of problems with earlier versions of both Cap 6 and Lion. I shoot live with clients in the studio so stability of the tethered connection is paramount, over any new feature.
Anybody out there with any thoughts? Paul says he prefers 10.8 but I wonder if he or anyone else has an opinion or data about running a tethered shoot all day long, with 10.8 and 6.4.4/5?
