Unacceptable Performance and Stability: CaptureONE PRO 7
Are any Windows 7 x64 users experiencing instabilities when using the new Catalog mode? I am finding the organization workflow is slow in C1PRO 7 when compared to LR 4.3 RC. I am referring to the organizing aspects ONLY. When I am in the "Library" module of LR and doing the typical sorting of meta-data, I am finding the organization of LR significantly faster than the "Library" (catalog) functionality of CaptureONE PRO.
Can we still expect, "What the world's best photography is made of"?
I also need to file the following: When working in catalog mode, C1PRO7 would hang of freeze when trying to exit. For example, I would go to File >> Exit. Nothing will happen. Wait a few minutes. Still nothing. I would then have to resort to closing C1PRO7 via Windows Task Manager.

Can you confirm you are experiencing this on a CO 7.0.1 ?
Have the catalog finished loading when you close ?
It would be very much appreciated if you could make a support case and include a system profile, all CO7 log files, and the catalog db file (not the entire catalog/filestructure). Then we have an honest chance of looking into why it is behaving like this on your computer, and to see if we can reproduce with your catalog.0 -
Hi Christian,
This is on the 7.0.1 version
I have been a long time user of C1PRO since 3.7.8 days. Prior to version 7, my workflow has been spoilt by C1PRO's expediency at handling my DNGs (from Canon 30D, Nikon D40X, and 7D).
I will submit the reports as requested along with (if any, a screen video) detailing the freeze.
Thanks for the reply: I know this is the use-to-user forum.
Cheers,

Hi Ronald,
I know you are not necessarily a fan of Media Pro, But I have been using it successfully with CO 7. I also use LR 4.3rc.
But I don't use the catalog mode of CO. I don't like the design, I had problems with it, and I'd rather use a full feature DAM. I use sessions, and I push the photos into CO 7 with MP.
I like MP much better than LR, though I keep my LR catalog up-to-date after I have done the main work in MP.
I did have to add Fastpictureviewer codecs so I could see all my pdfs, and I wish that MP would show my CO processed raws (coming someday), but I find the combo very fast and efficient.
